Good question. Right now I’m not entirely certain where this is going. An interest (or group of interests) of mine, since I was maybe 12 years old, has been eastern religions and the spiritual philosophical mental (OK, it’s very hard to really define this stuff so bear with me) personal techniques or methods developed over thousands of years.

I expect that the reason for the early interest in specifically asian religions or philosophies and practices was simply that they seemed exotic and esoteric. About as far from suburban New Jersey as you could get.

Later, of course, I discovered the Christian mystics and the advanced (if not always appreciated) theologians with ideas that resonant with eastern traditions and modern physics. And I found traditions and practices in every corner of the world. Over 50 years later, I’m still fascinated. So that’s what this is going to be about.
